My First Pregnancy Bummer

Since becoming pregnant my wellness journey has taken a huge change. For one, being healthy is more important than ever because I have a little one growing inside me, but for two-I can’t do all the same things I used to do. Experts highly recommend eating healthfully and exercising while pregnant and, generally speaking, you can do all the same things that you did prior to being pregnant. That being said, some of the things I was doing were quite intense and that is just not something I was interested in when I was COMPLETELY exhausted.

In any case, I am now bummed, but in a good way, about the release of Beachbody’s new program The Master’s Hammer and Chisel. It is from top trainers Sagi Kalev and Autumn Calabrese. I was super pumped at our 2015 Coach Summit when they announced the program. I have had my best results from Sagi’s Body Beast program  and Autumn’s 21 Day Fix program. In years past, when all else failed, they were what worked to transform my body in a way that I had NEVER seen before. However, now that I am pregnant is it too intense of a program for me to do, but rest assured I am still buying it and will be doing it once the little one comes and I am cleared by my midwife.

So how this program differs from my other swolemate (a fitness take on the word soulmate) workouts is that Body Beast is a bodybuilding program that focuses on muscular hypertrophy. The Master’s Hammer and Chisel includes aspects of bodybuilding, but also focuses on improving endurance, power, agility, strength, balance, and range of motion to sculpt a tight, defined physique. And, 21 Day Fix is a shorter, goal-specific program, whereas The Master’s Hammer and Chisel is a full 60-day program with slightly longer workouts. 21 Day Fix focuses on getting you shredded, while The Master’s Hammer and Chisel also helps you improve other aspects of your fitness, such as muscular endurance, power, strength, and agility. It’s a whole new approach to getting you ripped.

I am, however, still following the meal/nutrition plan that comes with the 21 Day Fix that is also the plan for The Master’s Hammer and Chisel. Like the nutrition plans in 21 Day Fix, The Master’s Hammer and Chisel uses the portion control container system. However, it is tailored to meet your specific goals and the nutritional demands that a challenging body-sculpting program like The Master’s Hammer and Chisel requires. The portion control system is safe to follow while pregnant, there are calorie “brackets” that you just adjust to during each trimester.

This is one of my progress photos from The 21 Day Fix. You can see that I am doing it in the living room of my two bedroom apt. It is that convenient.

This is a good photo to show the equipment that I used for Body Beast. I did this program in the living room of my two bedroom apt. No crazy equipment, no gym fees, just me at home. This is about all you will need for The Master’s Hammer and Chisel as well.
